How did you end up working for Optiply?
“I always dreamed of becoming a scientist or an architect because I wanted to help people with technology. When I taught my grandparents how to use facetime for the first time, to place an online order, or make an emergency call – that is when I realized that I wanted to design customer-oriented features. At the time, I was working at a big firm, but I felt there was something missing. So, when I had the opportunity to work as a designer for Optiply I grabbed that chance immediately. So far, it has been one of the best decisions I made in my entire life. It also taught me that some risks are worth taking.”
What qualities are the most important for your role as a designer?
“The ability to work well in a team is one of the most important skills a designer should possess. As a designer you need to gel well with various departments and work closely with them. In addition to that, the role of a designer demands being creative and inquisitive. Designing is an act of observing and creating what other people perceive. Therefore, you have to be a strong visual communicator – to convert an idea into a feature. And finally, I would say that strong questioning skills can be your saviour as a designer.”
What strengths have you gained from working with Optiply?
“Without a second thought, I would say a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who are all inspiring and committed towards the company goals, mission, and vision. There is a mentality within the company to create a positive atmosphere. That keeps me motivated. In addition to this, being part of the company’s transformation from a vision to reality is probably the biggest and most valuable professional advancement I gained at Optiply. I am still learning a little bit about everything, everyday.”
